 Kamiwazashop offers  a wide variaty of Caligraphy. 
The artist we use for our caligraphy is Ohta Suiko. \n <\/h3>\n

Ohta Suiko<\/h3>\n

Ohta Suiko was born as the forth generation of Japanese fine art Painter in 1962. Since the Edoperiod (1603~) her ancestors have all beenfavourites in the Shogun's stable of calligraphers from generation to generation. Therefore she also succeeds a talent of it and does active as a calligrapher as well as a painter.

In 1980, she was studying in Switzerlandand U.S.A. for two years, and she enlarged her experience by learning foreign culture. At the same time, she rediscovered the fascination of Japanese traditional culture. After her study abroad, she has been succeeding for teaching Japanese traditional fine arts to many foreigners since 1982.

\n Mashi
\n <\/span>Traditional Japanese paper made from hemp. Originally thought to have been made from scraps of hemp cloth or hemp bark. Considered the oldest paper made in Japan. Its strong, pliant, glossy quality makes it a very high grade paper. Mashi was used for imperial proclamations, for copying sutras, and for poetry. Documents and sutras on mashi paper from Sui and Tang China (618-907) and from the Nara and Heian periods are still intact. 
Production seems to have gradually declined after the Heian period, probably due to a lack of raw material and the low efficiency of production. Besides white mashi there are various other colors such as red, purple and yellow. Mashi in a long format is called choumashi.

\n Cedar tree
\n <\/span>Japanese cedar is a tall Evergreen tree with wide spreading branches. The wood of it is very hard and has a sweet smell. It is one of the most suitable wood for calligraphy.
